This may have been the fastest year of my life! Honestly, it feels like I just had that baby. I love that sweet, rough-and-tumble little squirt! Our little bear, jay bird, and joanie. He's so happy all the time...content and compliant. He'll pretty much eat anything. He loves his brother and starts laughing just at the sight of him. Some of Jonah's favorite things include pushing cars/trains/trucks around, taking baths, and trying to grab faces. Jonah does not care for books very much. He loves to eat meat, but really, he'll eat almost anything. He says a couple of words: dada, uh-oh, and I *think* he tries to say dog. He can pronounce mama, but I don't think he calls me that yet. He can also pronounce gaga, which Tobey always says he is saying train. He was still (ug!) nursing at night at one year, but I stopped a couple of nights ago. I'll still nurse him during the day until he is two or decides to wean himself on his own. I'm trying to keep him at two naps, but he seems to want to go to one. I'm going to try to do two naps until Thanksgiving, and if we can't get it, then I'll accept that we are down to one nap. Jonah gets so excited when Adam gets home! He just starts screaming! Another thing that Jonah does is he'll play by himself for a long time, sometimes up to an hour. He likes to tinker with things, and it'll be fun to see what things he gets interested in as the years go by. We also say that Jonah has "paci's"...he'll get a sports bottle cap out of the cabinets or a fake tree from Tobey's train table and suck on it as though it were a paci, yet the kid never took a paci for even a second of his life.
Not sure what else to say about this guy. We love him, and we can not imagine our family without him! I look forward to seeing the boy he will come to be!
1 year stats:
Weight: 21 lbs (45%tile)
Height: 31.5 inches (95%tile)
He's a big boy to us after having Tobey, but he has a perfect little baby body. I love when he kicks his legs and laughs when we pull him out of the bath! This kid has always flailed his limbs from the moment he got out of the womb. And each of those limbs is very, very strong. Oh, before pictures, Jonah is not walking yet, but a couple days after he turned one, he started standing independently! It won't be long now!
