Today we took Tobey to the airport park for the very first time!  It is really the little playground at the Dekalb-Peachtree Airport, but we call it the airport park.  Adam and I used to go all the time when we lived in Dunwoody to watch the airplanes take off and land.  Tobey loved it!  He couldn't care less about the playground equipment.  He just wanted to watch the planes.

tobey's sixth month (july 26 - august 25)

It's been a long time since I've worked on my project of documenting Tobey's life from before I started this blog, but with October Baby only a few months away, it's either now or never.  Okay, so I left off at the sixth month.  I honestly don't remember what was going on in his life so I'll just put my Facebook statuses up and some pictures.

Tobey is 5 months old today...ahhh!

It's been a big day for Tobey...turned 5 months old, rolled from stomach to back for the first time, and is asleep unswaddled in his crib without being rocked. i need to write this in his baby book.

Sleep training is going better than expected. Tobey put himself to sleep in 12 minutes tonight which is a lot faster than me! Maybe I need to start sucking my thumb...

My little thumb-sucking, side-sleeper only woke up once last night from 6:30pm to 7:00am! That was only night 2 of sleep training. I was so worried that it would be a tramatic event, but it really has been painless for the whole family. Thank you Sleep Lady! :)

How is it possible that it only took 2 minutes for my child to fall asleep on the 3rd night of sleep training?! Must be a Christmas in July miracle!

Today was Tobey's best Mass ever! He was so good! His fussiness has really cut down significantly now that he sleeping.

tobey has been napping for 2 and half hours! he has never napped this long. should I wake him up? he hasn't nursed in 5 hours either. i am not a fan of waking a sleeping baby, but i don't want him to sleep the day away. he is going to need an afternoon nap sometime too.

AHH! Jessica Gomez and David Gomez's plane caught on fire (Google "Airplane tire on fire")! They are okay though.  (Not Tobey related, but an important event.  They were fine.)

If someone rings your doorbell and offers you a 2-liter bottle of Coke in exchange to see something "amazing", don't do it (even if it is amazing)!. You might just be getting flim-flamed into listening to a 2 and half hour presentation on a Kirby vacuum cleaner costs more than small country.

The Kirby sales guy that surprised us at our door on Wednesday was trying to convince us to buy a vacuum on credit, and we told him we only make big purchases with cash. His response to that was, "If your fridge broke, what would you do if you didn't have the cash?" Well, someone should have knocked on wood because now our fridge is broken.

Tobey loves to watch me pour myself a cup of coffee, especially when I pour in the cream.  So today as he is watching me, I asked him if he would be a coffee drinker someday.  He replied to me, "No think so.  Coffee too hot."  (No think so means "I don't think so."  It's his new favorite phrase.)

26 weeks

It seems like I haven't blogged much in a while.  I have taken some really funny videos of Tobey so I need to figure out how to get them on here.  Tobey is almost 2 and a half, and he is still really into trains, but he now likes to makes trains out of legos and he likes his trains to run through play-doh, like he is making tracks.  He sleeps with his stuffed fire engine that he got from a neighbor kid last Halloween (smart parents gave the kids old toys to the younger trick-or-treaters).  Just goes to show you that you don't need to spend money to provide entertaining toys for your kids...there is always someone willing to pass along used, old, and ignored toys!

Anyways, update about being 26 weeks with October Baby.  Not much is going on to be honest, other than the baby is being very active, especially in the evening hours from about 9pm to 11pm.  I really can't complain about much, or anything really.  I did get a new midwife since my old one is gone from her practice.  She seems like she will work out just fine.

I was washing Tobey's clothes during his nap today, and he had no clean socks.  He likes to wear socks during his nap so I asked him if he wanted to wear mine.  They must have been magical socks because he slept for close to 3 hours!  After his nap though, he told me he wants to sleep barefoot next time.

He thinks it's a good deal that he'll be able to watch tv for 15 minute if he behaves while we go to the bank.  He did good, and got his tv time later.  (Had to go to the bank to get a cashier's check for our re-fi closing that was that night.)

Went to Catch Air yesterday, and Tobey had a blast!  He loved the ball pit.

crafting

I worked on a couple of crafts today.  The first was a menu board that I had made at craft group last Thursday.  Today, I worked on making little cards that have meals written on them.  I had some lamination paper so I was able to laminate as well. Each of the clothes pins has a letter representing a day of the week.  I can then clip what meal we will be having to that clothes pin.  It's now hanging up in the kitchen!

Next, I worked on a coloring folder for Tobey made out of an old DVD case.  It holds paper and crayons so that he can take them to mass and color.

This is the front.  It has a Velcro closure, and I covered it with orange material.

This is the inside.  The left holds paper, and the right holds crayons.  I used the same orange material to make the crayon pocket.
