Silly Jonah

I caught Jonah doing the funniest thing today. He had shut himself in the bathroom, and every time I went in, he said to me, "NO! Go out!" Naturally, I decided to spy on him. And what was he doing? Making silly faces in the mirror.

Also, overheard Tobey telling Jonah a bedtime story tonight.  It was about a squirrel, a chipmunk, and some ducks so go to some parks and find some mud.  Then they all went home and took a nap that lasted all night.  Tobey also told us tonight that he missed his baby sister very much while we were gone this weekend in the mountains.  He missed her more than he missed me and Adam.  What a sweet big brother!

Tobey's first week of PreK at SJBA

Well Tobey's first week of prek at SJBA is in the books!  He loved it!  He didn't say too much about it, but hopefully more will come out of him as the year goes on.

When I picked him up on Monday he said that he loved it!  He said it was much "funner" than he thought it would be.  One of the first things he said was "I had so much fun with Dominic!". He seems to really like this new friend!  They were looking for ants together when I picked Tobey up.  Tobey then gave me a detailed description of all the hot wheels cars that were in the classroom.  I asked him what he learned, and he told me that he learned the rules.  Unfortunately, he couldn't tell me what any of the rules were!  He said he did two crafts.  At lunch he say next to his pal Dominic.  After lunch at gym, they played with hula hoops and made tunnels.  He was really excited about that which I could tell he enjoyed because he was so sweaty!  I was surprised he didn't pass out in the car.  In fact, it seemed like he had more energy the rest of the day.  It must have hit him Tuesday though because his behavior was not the best.

Today I got a little less information from him.  He told me that " they definitely played on the playground. ".  He told me they learned the rules again and that he sat by Dominic again at lunch.  He did know his teachers names and his classmates names!  He brought home his artwork and was able to tell me that the picture of Mary is for her assumption celebrated this Friday!  In so proud!

I'd say it was a successful week!  Looking forward to next week!  Here is a picture of his artwork.

the leaf in the tub

Jonah's a pretty tough little guy, but tonight, not so much.  He was playing in the tub when he noticed a tiny piece of leaf that was floating around.  He started screaming and pushing himself away from it.  Seriously, the think was like the size of my pinky nail.  Tears were steaming down his face as the leaf got close to him.  I was laughing so hard and called Adam in.  Adam scooped it out and tossed it in the sink.  At this point Jonah was too upset to finish his bath.  As soon as I got him out and picked him up, he looked in the sink to get another look at that leaf.  Ha!  I would have loved to know what was going on in that adorable little head of his!  Was he scared or did he just not want to get dirty again?  We'll never know.

We went to yogli mogli at Suwanee town center for dessert tonight, and Tobey pointed out a red Volkswagen beetle as we parked.  He said it was a small car so I told him it was called a "bug".  He then corrected me by saying, "no, mom, that's a beetle."  Ummm, I have no clue how he knew that!

Good Friday fasting rules according to Tobey: if you are old and pregnant, like you mommy, then you can eat a lot.  If you are a kid or baby, you can eat a lot.  If you are an old man, you can't eat a lot.

I think that's a pretty good explanation for a four year old.

They watch it every morning after Tobey earns screen time for using the potty.  Jonah didn't even want breakfast today because he was so excited to watch. I think I have the whole thing memorized.

I haven't blogged in a long time.  Must have fallen off the blogging wagon but just wanted to say I just heard tobey say "oh daddy" in his sleep.  That kid loves his dad and for good reason!  Adam is the best dad to tobey and Jonah that I could ever ask for!
