jonah the beast

Jonah Bear, Jonah Monster, Jay Bird...I can't believe we have so many pet names for this kid.  He's also a beast though.  Yesterday I noticed that he was almost grown out of one of my favorite outfits, a GT romper.  Then I remembered that Tobey had gotten that when he turned one!  So then I figured out why it seems like Jonah is growing up so much faster than Tobey: At 9 months, he was the height and weight of Tobey at 15 months, which is why he is going through clothes so fast, can jump out of the bathtub (and almost busted his face tonight), is giving up his second nap, trying to climb out of his crib, and is beating up on everyone.  Oh, and he tried to eat a live cricket. But perhaps its just a second kid thing...

Jonah is such a sweet little angel beast though.  Tonight at dinner he was trying so hard to copy Adam blowing rasberries!  :)

that tobes

Well I *think* Tobey might be potty trained.  At least he is well on his way.  Last Wednesday I "threw away" his pull-ups (actually just stored for Jonah).  He only had accidents Wednesday and Thursday, and on Friday he finally started using the potty.  It was an intense battle of wills.  Thankfully, a friend of ours let me borrow a "potty watch" which reminded Tobey he needed to use the potty every hour.  Since then, he's only had 1 or 2 accidents.

Other than that, Tobes has just been having fun like always!  Here are some Tobey pictures from this past month!

He still loves garbage trucks.

He's in double digits!  There were a few big things that happened this past month:  First, he started pulling himself up to standing.  He doesn't do it a lot, but if he does it once during naptime, he is bound to do it a few more times and then laugh if I lay him back down, like its a game.  Secondly, his separation anxiety has been growing.  He's very attatched to me, and he'll cry if he sees me walk away.  Jonah does get real excited when he sees Adam, but then he gets over him real quick and wants to get back to me.  If Jonah cries during the night and Adam goes to him, it actually makes Jonah more upset.  He'll throw a fit if it's not me that comes in.  And third, he sleeps through the night, for the most part.  I think he got up once in the middle of the night in the past 2 weeks.  He just naturally gave up his night feedings.  It was nice.

As far as everything else, it is pretty much the same.  He's eating more and more solids (loves grilled cheese), but he still likes to eat his purees (loves everything!).  Loves his brother more than anything.  It's fun to see them play more and more, but Tobey definitely gets frustrated that Jonah is not able to do everything that he can do.  For example, if Tobey wants Jonah to see something, Tobey will try to drag Jonah over to where he wants him to go by the arm or shirt or whatever.  Good thing Jonah is so rough and tumble!  One of their favorite things to do together is wrestle, especially in the bath since we now bathe them together.  It is giving me a preview of how they will be playing in the years to come, and it is going to be very physical!  I'm mentally preparing myself for some trips to the ER now!

Another thing Jonah likes to do is roll cars around.  Not sure if I remember Tobey doing this at 10 months so perhaps Jonah is going this so early because he watches his brother.  Also, Jonah loves getting nightly popsicles...actually, Adam and Tobey give Jonah pieces of theirs.  Jonah's eyes light up just at the word, "popsicle".

And one last thing before pictures is that Jonah is now saying "uh-oh" when he drops something.  He then expects me to pick it up so he can drop it again!  :-)

I love this picture because of how Jonah is laughing so hard while looking at Tobey.

He loves that plastic banana, but his favorite is the plastic green chili pepper.  Ha!

first trip to the movies

Tobey went to the movies to see Planes!   He did awesome!   He got an ice cream cookie sandwich with a side of chocolate dipping sauce.   After the movie he wanted to go to the very front and the very back.   Haha silly kid!   He said his favorite thing about the movies was the chocolate dipping sauce!   Haha!  He liked the "Orange plane" the best in the movie.

Tobey Quote

From Evernote:

Tobey Quote

We were picking out books to read the other night and there were already three books on Tobey's table and he said he wanted to read those.

Tobey:  I want to always read these three books.
Me:  Well how long do you want to read them for?
Tobey:  Until we die.

Note: During dinner Tobey had been asking us all these questions about when he would die and go to heaven and what heaven would be like.
