And just to make sure I do, here is what happened right before lunch: It had rained a little this morning, but it must have been more than I thought. I had let the dogs outside since Grandma was coming over while I went to the store. When I got home, Tobey wanted to go outside and play. So when we went outside, I saw that Miles was COVERED in mud. Awesome. So I out Jonah in the playpen and gave Miles a bath, During the bath, Jonah cried the whole time, and Tobey and Penny got all muddy outside. Jonah started screaming so I left Miles all suds-ed up in the tub (I knew he would stay in because of his torn ACL) to check on Jonah. Miles started barking, but I had to check on Tobey and Penny. Tobey and Penny now had more mud on them, and Jonah cried even louder. Okay, back to Miles. I got him rinsed off and started to dry him when he got loose from me and shook himself and ran all over the house. The bathroom and the hallway were soaked. Meanwhile, Jonah is getting all red-faced and teary-eyed. I got Jonah out of the playpen and into his high chair and gave him some puffs. He finally calmed down. Next I was able to brush the mud off of Penny...turned out it was surface dirt as opposed to caked-in mud. Penny then took off for my room, jumped on the bed, and laid down in my spot. And that's when I noticed that in fact, she did have mud on her paws! AAHHHHGGGG! But, whatever. Then it was time to take care of Tobey who was actually a little angel. He helped me take off his muddy clothes and went straight to the bathroom and washed his own hands. I then got the kids lunch and noticed that I was so hungry that I was about to barf. Once I fed Jonah some, I finally got to eat. And while all this was going on, I had a time limit in getting the kids down for naps because I had a phone appt with the insurance agent.
But the craziness was all worth it. I heard Tobey making siren noises during his "quiet time", and that made me feel better. Not that it doesn't make being a parent tough, but it somehow makes it worth it.

father's day 2013
We had so much fun celebrating Father's Day this past weekend. To celebrate, we let Adam choose whatever he wanted to do, and he chose to do whatever Tobey wanted to do (What a nice daddy! I told Adam that I'm not that nice!). So we went to Suwanee Creek Park for a brunch picnic and a bike ride down the trail. We picked up some Waffle House (Adam's choice) on the way. Also, Tobey picked out a "gee" for Adam since he was the only one in the family who did not have one. We also made a card that had fill-in-the-blanks that Tobey filled in: How old is daddy? 4; How tall is daddy? 4 feet; What is daddy's favorite food? corn...ummm, I think you are a little off on that one, Tobes!

jonah is 8 months old!
Jonah is 8 months old! 2/3rds of a year! Saying it like that just makes him sound old. The biggest change for Jonah this past month has been sitting. He started sitting when he turned 7 months, and that has made this past month so much easier on everyone. He's not crawling quite yet, but he's getting up and rocking back and forth. He'll move backwards and sideways, but not really forward. On the day he turned 8 months, a few days ago, he started pointing his finger! It's really cute. Also, he's sleeping all night for the most part. Some times he wakes up in the 5 o'clock hour, but we are getting close to having him sleep all night. I'll probably cut him off at 9 months if he doesn't stop on his own. He still likes to eat everything. I feel so blessed to have such an easy-going baby!

green day
I made pureed green beans, pureed asparagus, steamed asparagus, and kale chips. Tobey accidentally fell asleep, but the only green things I can get him to eat are jelly beans and popsicles.

our father, according to tobey
Tobey: Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, just to pass the time away. Can't you hear the whistle blowing. Rise up so early in the morn'. Can't you hear the captain shouting, Dinah blow your horn. Amen. The end.

tobey's bad dream
Tobey: Mommy, did you have any bad dreams last night.
Me: No, did you? Is that why you wanted me to snuggle with you in the middle of the night?
Tobey: Yes, I dreamed a piece of paper turned into a duck and then turned into a car and then turned into a giraffe.
Also, life update: I've been really busy taking care of two little boys, two crazy dogs, spending time with my wonderful husband, taking care of the house, and trying to take care of myself. Tobey says a lot of random things, such as "I am the master of power! I am powerful!", but I get so busy to post those random things. Jonah is still not crawling, but I'll post the day he does!
