Little Tobey had his first swim lesson today! Not gonna lie...it was a little rough. At first he seemed to be doing okay. He was sitting on the side of the pool listening to the pool rules. So I sat down since there was nothing to watch (I was in a waiting room that had a window so I could watch the class), but then I heard all the moms saying, "Poor little guy", and I knew that had to mean Tobey. He was so scared to get in the pool. The whole class he was in tears and saying he was tired, which is really his way of saying he doesn't want to do something. But the other moms reassured me that this was normal and that going to class for an entire week will help, which is what we are doing. On the bright side, he did participate in the activities: blowing bubbles in the water, kicking with a kickboard, doing the "choo choo" which is moving along the edge of the pool, and floating. I won't be surprised if he has to repeat this level class though. At the end of class, I asked him if he had fun, and he said "yes". I asked him if he wanted to come tomorrow, and he said yes to that too.
