stone mountain

Yesterday, Adam, Tobey, and I went to Stone Mountain.  It'd been years since Adam and I went (I think the last time was with Jessica and David pre-children), and we wanted to take Tobey to do something special before the baby gets here.  We started our day by hiking up the mountain.  It definitely took a little longer with me being pregnant and Tobey being just a toddler, but we surprisingly did well.  Tobey made it about 3/4ths of the way before wanting to be carried.  Adam and I joked about how he was carrying one child while I carried the other, but I think I had it a little easier than he did!  I was surprised that I didn't have too many contractions and that it really wasn't too bad for me at 36 weeks.

So we got to the top, looked around a bit, and took the skyride back down.  We called the skyride a mountain train to make it a little more exciting and motivating for Tobey.  He really didn't know what to think of it and was perhaps a little scared, but he didn't complain.  We then did some walking around and rode the train before having lunch and going home.  Tobey was so tired that he fell asleep in the car and then slept another hour when we got home.  To add to a tiring day, we did a family photo shoot with an old friend of mine that evening and then went to dinner and didn't get home until late.  Poor little fella was exhausted!

Oh, one thing that was funny was that I found an earthworm on our way up the mountain and said something to Tobey.  So he picked up the worm, took it over to the side, and buried it under some pine needles.  He said that he was saving people from the worm and that the worm was taking a nap.  He is really getting into creepy crawling creatures!
